How to Implement User-Based Data Filtering in Power BI Without Using Row-Level Security (RLS)?

Hi Power BI Community,

I am working on a Power BI report where I need to show data to users based on their identity. However, I do not want to use Row-Level Security (RLS) because our customer is not willing to manage user roles on their side. I am looking for a way to dynamically filter data based on the logged-in user without requiring RLS configuration.

Here are the requirements:
- User-Specific Data: The data should be filtered based on which user is logged in.
- No RLS: The customer does not want to manage user roles, so I cannot rely on RLS.
- User Mapping: Each user is associated with a specific division, and I need to show only the relevant division data to the user.

Could anyone share a solution or point me in the right direction for dynamically showing data to users based on their login information?

Thanks in advance!

Create separate reports by division. Share via audiences that contain distribution lists of the division users.
