I have a custom made JSON map like the one below using the 'shape map' visual:
How can I include data labels to display the different areas and perhaps numerical values per region?
Needs more details. Does your JSON contain the shape identifiers, and are these then joined to your data model?
Please provide sanitized sample data that fully covers your issue.
Please show the expected outcome based on the sample data you provided.

I created the polygons using QGIS and the only information I included was the names for each polygon.
