Based on your description, I have created a simple sample:
Please try:
Turn on Row Subtotals, then turn off Show Subtotal for all the rows except Location Number

AndreasRom , what is the problem is not clear. If the month is joined with a table or part of the table and used in the column as a field it should work
The information you have provided is not making the problem clear to me. Can you please explain with an example.
