How come the format month-year is wrong in the calendar table

Hi Everyone,

Happy New Year!

I have a question about the calendar table which I created last year and hope someone could help me out.

In my calendar table, the date column is '1/5/2023' and I created another column called 'MonthYear(formatted) as I only want to show Month and Year which was 'Jan-23'. However, when I came back from vacation, the month/year column for '1/5/2023' is now showing 'Jan-24'. I don't know what happened to it and I have to deliver a report next Monday. Can someone advise how to correct this error please?

Hi Kaviraj11,

Thank you soooo much for your fast reply. Below is the MonthYear Column for '1/5/2023 which I just noticed is also incorrect.

This is how I computed the 'MonthYear' Column:

I see that you already have a column 'MonthYearLong' which is displaying a correct data. Could you just replace 'MonthYearLong' instead of 'MonthYear' in an expression of calculated column 'MonthYearLong'

How did you generate MonthYearLong?

Or

Use this expression to create a calculated column and it will display the expected output. The Column in an expression should be a date data type.

FORMAT('Table'[Date],"mmm-yy")

Can you tell or provide a screenshot of what value is in 'MonthYear' column?

Just to clarify, I want to still keep the 'MonthYearLong' column but create a new column for the shorter form

Hi Kaviraj11,

Yes that's a great idea. Do you mind showing me how to create a colmun from 'MonthYearLong' to show the short form please? i.e. From 'Jan-2023' to 'Jan-23' please?

Thank you very much in advance for your help, I really really appreciate it!
