I have both Power BI Desktop and Power BI for Report Server installed on my computer. I created a file in Desktop, but must have accidentally opened and saved it in Report Server at one point. The next time I opened it in Desktop, I was warned that it was saved in an older format and some of my visualizations might not work. It was true. Now, if I have a measure that performs a calculation on another measure, I can't use it for conditional formatting. It only works if the calculated measure doesn't refer to another measure. This is true even though I have resaved it in Desktop, rebooted my machine and reopened it in Desktop.
I think my file must be corrupt. Is there some way to uncorrupt it? Is there something I could edit in the XML? This is a huge and complicated report, and I can't afford to start over.
Hi, @Kimber
Thanks for the reply from danextian and 3CloudThomas. You can try their method, if it is does not work, you can check if the pbix file is synchronized and saved in OneDrive, and if it is, you can recover the file via history.
Best Regards,
Yang

Hi @Kimber
Import the PBIX file directly to the service instead of using the publish button in Desktop and see if you can open the report there. If it works, download the file and check if it’s still corrupted. Additionally, try opening the PBIX on another machine.
If you Deployed to the service, try to download the published report/semantic model from the service.
This is a good reason to use some sort of Source Control even if it Sharepoint (which saves versions)
