How can I pass a filter parameter to an embedded PBI Report Server report?

I know I can embed a Report Server report in an application, but is it possible to send it filter parameters?

Does that work even if I'm using Report Server instead of the PBI Service? I couldn't get it to work. Does that mean I'm doing it wrong, or does that mean Report Server doesn't work the same way as the Service.
