We have a high level report that is sent out daily. My company is migrating to Power Bi and this report is only sent to the executive staff. The problem is that the image is sent in the subscription and then everyone can see the sales numbers. Thinking outside the box is there a way around this?
1) Must haves " Preview of report in the email"
2) Only Top 7 executives can see this report.
Is this even possible?
From what I understand this requirement is that the subscription is generally based on whoever sets it up so there is no RLS applied.
The picture is also a screenshot taken of a specific page which obviously has no extra protection.
The solution that @amitchandak posted regarding Power Automate could help you but you need to set it up for every recipient manually from what I saw?
Alternatively, and this is not a good solution, you could use Paginated Reports which now support dynamic subscriptions (https://powerbi.microsoft.com/en-us/blog/dynamic-subscriptions-for-paginated-reports-preview/).
Hi @Anonymous
Please chekc the video for Dynamic Row level security.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=axTyP7I2Bso
So based on roles only respective data will be visible to to users based on Email id.
I hope I answered your question.
@Anonymous , if you use RLS, they should get data they have access to
For part of what you need, you should consider power automate
