Hi All,
Please help me with a solution for the following scenarios, so that all my visuals and cards dynamically update based on the selected date range.
Scenario 1: Default Period Selection
My dataset calendar table contains dates from the year 2018 up to today.
I want to create a Custom Period section in the report that shows:
Current Period: with a Start Date and End Date
Previous Period: with a Start Date and End Date (one year before the current period)
When a user opens the report, the default selection should be as shown below
Current Period:
Start Date: 01/01/2025
End Date: 12/04/2025 (today’s date)
Previous Period:
Start Date: 01/01/2024
End Date: 12/04/2024
Also user should be able to change any date from previous year (for example 2023 / 2024 etc ) in Current Period Start and End date and same for Previous Period Start and End date,
Dates for year 2024 are Greyed out, this is the issue.
How can we get /select date of previous year's any date when my default slicer current period is Start date: 01/01/2025 and End date: Today date
Scenario 2: User-Selected Periods could be any range
If a user wants to change the Current Period manually — for example:
Start Date: 25/10/2024
End Date: 24/11/2024
Then the Previous Period should automatically update to:
Start Date: 25/10/2023
End Date: 24/11/2023
All my visuals and cards and bookmarks should update dynamically based on the selected date range in Current and Previous period
Thanks & regards,
Bhaskar

Dynamic date ranges seem to be the new "i have to create my own calendar script". Have your report users asked for this? Could you cover this need with the standard filter pane, and conserve valuable screen real estate for visuals that help providing insights?
