Hello everyone,
I’m trying to create a histogram in Power BI similar to the image below, where I have Upper Specification Limit (USL) and Lower Specification Limit (LSL) values that need to be shown as reference lines on the chart. I also want to display the frequency distribution of my data (like the blue bars in the image) and overlay the LSL and USL lines as vertical dashed lines.
Here’s my data setup:
So far, I’ve tried adding the measured values to both the X-Axis and Y-Axis in Power BI, but no data is showing in the chart. I created bins manually, but the chart still isn’t displaying correctly.
Could someone guide me through the steps to:
Any help or insights would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you!

Hi, @Heena_9980400
Thank you for your swift response.
1.Based on the data you provided, I am currently unable to determine if it follows a normal distribution. Therefore, I created the following dataset to help you understand how to set it up:
The median of this dataset is 19, and the variance is 361.
2.According to your requirements, I used a column and line chart for visualisation, as shown in the image below:
3.I placed the parameter points on the x-axis.
4.The specific values were placed on the y-axis and the line y-axis. Of course, this can be replaced with the count of occurrences for the reference point.
5.The vertical reference lines were set in the positions shown in the image below:
6.Here's my final result, which I hope meets your requirements.
My setup is just an example, so the specific settings may still need adjustments based on your parameters. I hope this helps.
Please find the attached pbix relevant to the case.
Of course, if you have any new ideas, you are welcome to contact us.
Best Regards,
