To add to lbendlin's reply, if you want to implement hierarchies properly, you really need to acquire a copy of Russo and Ferrari's Guide to DAX . They have an entire chapter dedicated to heirarchies, and IMHO, the topic is complex enough with pitfalls etc. that without detailed study, there is little hope of implementing it correctly.
However, the upside is that when done right, this is one of the most powerful features of PowerBI, and your users will love it!
