I'm trying to use Power BI to do analysis on scenario-based data, and am struggling to figure out how to dynamically group attributes to filter the data based on dynamic scenario selection.
I have a list of products, and a number of sales scenarios for each (Base Case, Pessimistic, Optimistic). I want to be able to, for each product, choose which scenario's data I want to use, and then roll up that data into a single sales figure across all products. For instance, I'm confident that Product A will sell less than expected, so I'll associate it with "Pessimistic", but with Product B I think it might sell more than average (so I'll select Optimistic). I want to be able to do this dynamically within the visualization as opposed to pre-define which scenario to associate with each product.
The closest thing to a solution I have found is the HierarchySlicer visualization, but that doesn't enforce mutual exclusivity when choosing which scenarios to associate with each product. i.e.: I can select multiple scenarios for a product, thereby double-counting sales.
Are there any smart ways out there to achieve this kind of filtering dynamically? Sort of like a slicer but with more than just one data attribute, and ideally with some form of cascading.
