Hiding a required column in a table and grouping by another column

I have a table visual with 3 columns (City, State and Resident Count). I want to role it up to the State level but in order to make a connection to another table for accurate Resident Count I need to include the City in the fields selected for the table visual. When I remove City the Resident Count becomes inaccurate. How can I have the table role up to the State and not display the City?

Thanks, Mark

Hi, @U156531

I wrote a simple data set based on the information you gave me.

When creating a Slicer and prioritizing State as a filter condition.

Yilong, Thanks for provinding the sample. That is basically my situation. I however want to remove the the City from the table and have the people count role up to the State. The State and the City are on different tables but I have a relationship between the two tables in the Manage Relationships, however when I remove the City as an item in the table I end up with incorrect people count. How can I resolve this?
