It would be great if we could "Hide" multiple tables at one time. Currently I have to hide each table one at a time. My data comes in about 120 different tables. Then I use the append to merge into appropriate groups. But when building the report I have to search thru all the tables to find the appended tables and the few others I want to use. Either way it costs me a lot of time!
Hi @HYEasterly,
Thank you for sharing your use case. I understand the challenge of working with large data models, especially when dealing with over 100 tables and needing to keep your report view clean by hiding unnecessary tables.
Currently, Power BI does not offer a direct "bulk hide" feature within the default interface.
Anyhow, there are effective workarounds you can implement:
Using Model View in Power BI Desktop:
This method significantly reduces the time compared to hiding each table individually from the Fields pane.
Using Tabular Editor (Recommended for Large Models):
Download Tabular Editor from the official site and integrate it with your Power BI Desktop.
Happy to help! If this addressed your concern, marking it as "Accepted Solution" and giving us "kudos" would be valuable for others in the community.
Thank you.
Go to the data model view. Select the tables you want to hide. Then right click one of them and select "hide in report view"
