Help needed with Power BI set up (school data related) Dax, measures etc

Hi,

I am based in a private school and was recently introduced to Power Bi by our MIS system SIMS. I am trying to create a document to replicate a spreadsheet we currently produce for every year group after a set of assessments so we can easily analysis who may need interventions.

I have 4 tables of data;

1. containing the result Id, external Id of the student, name of student, tracking aspect, tracking resultset, tracking result and tracking grade value becasue sometimes the result is abs for absent

2. containing the result Id, external Id of the student, name of student, target aspect, target resultset, target result and target grade value

3. containing the result Id, external Id of the student, name of student, MidYIS aspect, MidYIS resultset, MidYIS result and MidYIS grade value becasue some of the results are a silt grade 6/7 so we log this as a 7 grade value

4. Pupil data - external Id of the student and various items pertaining to the students i.e gender, house etc

I need to firstly produce tracking grade-target grade and tracking grade-MidYIS and then I need to show how many results were 2 below, 1 below, = to, 1 above and 2 above the target grade and produce the same for the MidYIS grade. We also show the total number of a grade acheived i.e. grade 9=3, grade 8=4 etc

I have tried and tried to create something but I am getting nowhere. I can't seem to firstly establish the relationship between the tracking, target and MidYIS so it know what child and subject you are referencing and secondly how I even begin to ask to give me the answers I need.

Can any Power Bi whizz's out there help me please!!!!

Hi Without compromising any GDPR issues, can you upload the file and then share the link. You can change all the name s of the children....
