Help - is this dashboard possible?

Hi, I was hoping to get some help in understanding the source data I need to capture as well as if the visualisations in the attached mock-up would be possible.

Initially I am going to manually enter this info, then as soon as we see this report working each week then find ways of grabbing this data automatically from various sources.

In order to produce the visualisations, I think i need 2 separate spreadsheets sample data also attached:

  1. Project info

2. Staff info

I’d be grateful if someone could let me know what info I need to capture to these to be able to produce the visualisations needed, below is a bit more detail for each point:

1. Total number of projects - this will be a simple sum of the number of project.

2. Utilisation - number of potential projects we could have worked on / number we actually did. Potential projects will be based on total staff available for the period, each project needs a minimum of 2 staff. So for example if we had 6 staff available Monday, these 6 staff could work on 3 projects in the am, then 3 in the pm. So potential total of 6 projects in the day. The actual would be the figure from visual 1.

3. Revenue - this will be a simple sum of the revenue per project

4. We have a fixed weekly cost, so this will be figure from visual 1, less fixed weekly cost say 23,000

5. Gp% - visual 4 / visual 3

6. For each vehicle, if it was working on a project and if this was an am/pm project or a full day

7. The type of project worked on, this will be a simple sum of the project type recorded against each project

8. The vehicle utilisation % - being total projects the vehicle worked on that week (the info from visual 6, so vehicle A did 1 Monday, 1 tue, 3 wed etc.) / the number of projects that vehicle could have worked on in total for that week - 14

9. This shows how much staff project availability we have each day, based on 1 member of staff able to complete 2 projects a day (1 in am, 1 in pm).

    • available - staff free that day x 2
    • Utilised - the number of projects the staff worked on that day
    • Un-utilised - available less utilised

10. Staff members working on each day

Thanks in advance for any assistance 😀👍

@Layster the kind of requirments that you have shared here would require much more detail. I would suggest you to get in touch with some vendor for your report requirment if you are new in powerbi. Because designing such type of report would require lot of understanding about the data you have and lot of cleaning and transforming of the data would also be needed.

also when you start develping your report first thing that you need to do is to check the formuala and calc if they are giving you the results that you will be presenting in your report. Final part of desiging the visual part can be done once data is available in the right format. You may go through few below links for help
