Help creating free dumbell chart
Hello, I am looking to create a dumbell chart (for free) on PowerBI. I found a good visual via "get more visuals" but you have to pay for it. I also found another on e by MAC software but I can't m...
Thank you - that gave me a really good start. I found a worked out a workaround...
- I created a conditional column in my data set to give a number for my questions i.e if question equals “3.a….” then “1”, if question equal “3.b…” then “2” etc.
- I then made a scatter plot, showing the % agree as for both years as X axis and my new conditional column for question number as Y axis (and set this to show minimum) and set Year as the legend.
- I filtered the chart to only show question “3.a….”, then added a trend line (setting to solid line to join the two dots).
- I copied and pasted the scatter plot and laid it on top of the previous one exactly (removed the gridlines and then switched the filter to only show “3.b…” and repeated this for each question.
- I then manually added text boxed for my questions on the Y axis.
PowerBIuser888 The only workaround that I can think of based on the image would likely not have the lines. I'd suggest maybe putting two graphs, one infront of the other, and making the one in front transparent. One the one chart, have the min for the range, and on the other, have the max. Unsure whether this will "tick the box" but hopefully a start.
