Hi,
I have a table visualization and the user wants a brief description to be seen when he hovers the mouse over the table column headers, similar to Comments/Notes in excel.
Is this possible?
Regards,
Vishy
Hi @Anonymous ,
Power BI does not support this feature currently based on my research… Here is one similar idea shared on Power BI Ideas , you can vote it up and add your comments there to improve Power BI on this feature.
In additional, maybe you can use visual header tooltip as alternative method:
2. Select the drop down to Switch on the visual header Tooltip option
3. It brings up another tab in the Formatting pane called visual header tooltip under visual header. Type the notes/comments you want the users to know in “Tooltip text” textbox. Then you would see a question mark on the visual that will show this comments
You can refer this documentation for the full details.
Best Regards
Rena
Hi Adam & Rena,
Thanks for your detailed inputs.
Both the methods which you showcased will only give me a tooltip info for the entire table or visualization.
I want a tooltip information for each and every column header which is part of my table or visualization, not for the table as a whole.
I understand in table it might not be possible as you mentioned, I have not tried with matrix visualization, not sure if that would help.
Regards,
Vishy
Hi,
That's not supported on the table visual, sorry.
But can create a measue with a text and then drag it into "Tooltips" in many other visual element.
