Headcount report - how to input opening headcount

Hi,

I am trying to build an attrition dashboard for 2018 using an employee index with all employee's start dates & termination dates (if applicable) , this start dates go back years whereas the termination dates are from 2018 onwards.

I have got my measures for total leavers/joiner & % attrition working, however, my opening headcount is not correct.

My calender table is using employee start dates and I only have termination dates for 2018 so my opening headcount in JAN 2018 is higher than it should be.

Any suggestions would be greatly appeciated!!

Not much you can do. Bad data is bad data.

Either get the proper term dates or supplement your data with a "cheat sheet" (excel data from someone who knows) to fix.
