Group by

Hello Beautiful People,

Please I have a quesion. How can I group values into multiple groups in power bi.

Example, I have a value in a "manager column" and this value manages two groups at once.

However, Power Bi only lets you group one value per group from the modelling tab.

How can I do achieve my result please?

Thank you

Hi,

What happens when you try to build a simple Table visual?  Also, have you tried the Query Editor to create that Table.

Nothing is wrong when  i do the table visual, the only problem is, it still gives me one value per group.

I havent done it in the query because it will take a lot of time, I have 800,000 rows here. I need a smarter way to solve this problem please.

Can I create two tables for the same value? I dont know

Hi @charlieotonor

For this the best option is use DAX, in this case you can use SUMMARIZE, but this option is for create a new table, if you want to do it on the current table you should do it on the EDIT QUERIES and there is an option called GROUP BY.

Good Luck.

How do i do this in query without writing a long line of code? And i dont want to summarize, I just want to allocate the components to its indivual group. This sounds simple but hard to accomplish

Hi,

Can you paste a small dataset and show the expected result for that small dataset?
