I'm wondering if it's possible to add a drilldown to a visualization on Power BI desktop that shows a break-down of groups by individal values
I have age groups from: 0-9, 10-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50+
I want to show the data for each age band at a high level with the option to click on each age group (i.e. 0-9) and see the data for each individual age (i.e. 0,1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9)

Yes, you can do that. Say fo example, you are showing age group wise revenue in a bar chart.
Place your Age group as the first column and place the age field as second column in Axis section and place revenue in Value section. By this way, values will be displayed by group and you should be able to drill down to show each group members.
