Getting Row Subtotal to 'turn back on'

Good morning experts!

I've built a hideously complicated DAX measure and it's not working. The intent of this measure is to perform a simple SUM() calculation for a handful of specified projects, and 'turn off' the other values that havent been specified. To do this, I built two virtual tables:

Var projectinlist =
{"D", "E", "F", "G"}

Var projectoutlist =
Calculatetable(
Values(MSTR_Project[ProjectID])
Filter(
MSTR_Project,
Not (MSTR_Project[ProjectID] in projectinlist
)
)

The next lines accurately calculate the sum ('calcsum' below), but the final variable is where I get into trouble. In order to 'turn off' all of the projects in projectoutlist, I do the following:

Var result =
Switch(True(),

SelectedValue(MSTR_Project[ProjectID]) in projectinlist, calcsum,
SelectedValue(MSTR_Project[ProjectID]) in projectoutlist, Blank(),
Blank()
)

The above result variable successfully 'turns off' all of the projects I'm not interested in (ie: it hides them from the visual without the use of the Filter pane), but it also hides the row subtotal for that column. Which for this dashboard, is absolutely essential.

How do I change my result variable to recalculate and display the accurate sum of all of the displayed calcsums in the 'Total' line, without turning any of the other projects I'm not interested in back on?

This looks like a measure totals problem. Very common. See my post about it here: https://community.powerbi.com/t5/DAX-Commands-and-Tips/Dealing-with-Measure-Totals/td-p/63376
