Hello,
I would like to get data from this website :
https://products.markit.com/indices/data/Indices.asp?menuID=796
This website require login and I tried to put my identification information but it does not work.
Does somebody know why ?
Thank you in advance !
Hi. I have the same problem and in this tutorial Tutorial: Import and analyze data from a webpage - Power BI | Microsoft Docs it says "Web connections are only established using basic authentication. Web sites requiring authentication may not work properly with the Web connector." 😞
Not a solution, but a work around. Save the web page to file from your browser, then import the data using web anonymous mode. The URL will look something like this:
file:///C:/temp/yourwebsite.html
Obviously not ideal as the data won't refresh automatically, but hopefully helpful to someone who just wants a piece of static data.
Best solution i've found so far 🙂 thanks.
Does anyone has the solution for these?
Did anyone find a solution for this? I'm having the same problem
I have the same problem. Both in PQ in Power BI or in Excel. Please Help
Same problem here
Has anyone found a solution to this?
Hi,
So have you found a solution please?
Thanks
I'm having the same issue..
I have the same problem. Even when I typed my pasword and ID in Power BI, I am not able to get data because it seems like i did not log in the data server.
@quentin_vigne could you please point us related person about this issue if you know who s/he is ofc?
Is there a space in your login or password ? If yes change My Login to "My Login"
Quotes will solve this kind of problem
Else I see that your link is maybe the wrong one as the login page of your website is :
https://products.markit.com/home/login.jsp
- Quentin
Hi quantin_vigne and thank you for your answer
My login is a email address...
I know the login page is
https://products.markit.com/home/login.jsp
But the data is here :
https://products.markit.com/indices/data/Indices.asp?menuID=796
I don't know how to do it
Did you follow this tutorial step by step ? : https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/desktop-connect-to-web
- Quentin
Yes but this tutorial does not mention any login step...
I've just wanted to be sure you were in the right place
On the place box where you have "Sélectionnez le niveau auquel appliquer ces paramètres"
Did you try the others links in the dropdown list ?
- Quentin
Thank you 🙂
Yes I tried every level of the website but it always blocks...
I think the problem is that datas and the login page are on two differents pages
Maybe someone with more experience than me will find out
- Quentin
Did anyone find a solution to this issue please?
