Get data from PBI dashboard and apply

Hi everyone,

My PBI data set is based on other PBI dash board so i'm using export data manually.

Is there any way to get data from PBI dashboard and apply to my desktop PBI data set automadically?

Two options  to pull the data automatically:

  • You can use Power Automate to run a query against a Power BI semantic model and save it to a SharePoint filter, overwriting the previous run. Connect to this file.
  • Connect to the semantic model via live connection. No Power Query transformation can be done and no calc columns but the data is in sync with the model and you can still create measures. The schema/relationships/etc is preserved.
  • Connect to the semantic model using Direct Query. Once you connect to a semantic model via live connection and bring in another data, you'll be prompted to change the live connection to Direct Query. Connecting to a semantic model via DQ still doesn't allow Power Query transformations but you can create calculated columns and measures. DQ limitations still apply. Not all DAX functions are supported.
