Generateseries - select single value

Hello,

I have created a table using the New Parameter function, I set the maxium to 10000. I added the slicer to my report I set it as Single Value, but it doesn't let me select any value it seems to jump around. For instance I type the number 9898 into the slicer, but it sets the value to 9900.

Here is the formula

Component Calculator = GENERATESERIES(0,10000,1)

Is there a way to fix this? Or is there a better way to have an input value?

Thanks!

Hello,

I am curious about GENERATESERIES functionality as well, as it seems I'm having the same problem (series up to 1000 works fine, anything over does not).

Is there a limitation on the size of series we can generate or something?

Thank you

Hi, can you share your pbix to take a look at it? (As long as you dont have sensitive data in it)

Hi Christian,

This file is pretty sensitive, but I can give more details. Essentially I have a list of materials needed to make a specific item and the quantity of those materials, I want to have a field for input sales quantity that helps calculate materials needed to meet sales demand. The idea here is if get an order for an item, I can plug in the sales quantity and the report gives me a list of materials needed.

I used the New Parameter function to create a table with a list of numbers from 1-10000 then I have measure that takes the selected value.

Component Calculator Value = SELECTEDVALUE('Component Calculator'[Output Value], 1)

So when I use my silcer, it calculates (Component Calculator Value * Qty Per) which gives me the needed materials, except it doesn't let me input any value.

question...it has to be 10000 the max number for series?, becasue over a 1000 start jumping around when you type in.

Yes when the number series is less than 1000, it works just fine. But when I create a series for greater than 1,000 it starts to become an issue. Perhaps there are to many filter options?
