Hi Cosmin,

 

Did you solve this issue? I got the same error message in my test environment in which I connected to the network file by VPN.

1. So please check your network environment;

2. We should use the link like this: \\dfsadfsa\as\afda\Other_Sources\a.xlsx;

3. The credential should be the one we can use in our local computer.

Hi

i didn't have full access, i need to stay after my it support; i don;t have wright to install on server

one issue is that we have on a server all reports and sources and only one account with license - an email and password

and one of my question was if when i install the gateway there on server if i can put my email and password with no pbi license or that unique account with license

but if i install just provisory on my computer the gateway, it will work? same question: my email or need license account?

    Hi cosminc,

     

    Yes, it will work if your computer have the access to that file. (Don't need to login the remote computer). 

    The email (Power BI account) you enter in the data gateway is the owner of the gateway. That means the account can use this gateway. You don't need a Pro account to use a Gateway.
