Hi,
I am trying to apply conditional formatting to a text field (Project Name) so it becomes a hyperlink based on another field in the dataset (Project Site) and my dataset also contains calculation groups for time intelligence. The project site column is uncategorized.
Now in the conditional formatting options, this field "Project Site" appears greyed out as in the 2nd image. I tried the same process with a dataset that does not have calculation groups and it works as expected. Has anyone experienced this and is there a workaround as I need to have calculation groups in my dataset? (Not sure if the calc groups have anything to do with this)
Hi @mm_merchant ,
Is it convenient to provide your pbix file and remove confidential data.
I tested it in my local environment and it's no problem so far.
Best Regards
Lucien
Thanks for checking, I don't have an option to attach a file, how did you attach yours or what's the alternative?
I also observed that when I added a calculation group to the file you shared above, any subsequent formatting of text as URL stops working. The original table you created retains the formatting of text as URL but for any new visual it stops working.
Hi @v-luwang-msft ,
Please see the file here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/k0lk7621do9pa2g/Report_FormatText_URL.pbix?dl=0
If you set the Data category for your Project Site column to Web URL I think it should work
thanks for your reply. I attempted that but still couldn't get it to work.
Project Site column set to Web URL:
The project site field is still greyed out in the conditional formatting options:
I even tried creating a copy of the project site column and even the new column appears greyed out. Then I also tried a custom column using CombineValues to create the project site column and still had no luck.
