You X Axis must have continuos date in order to appear the forecast ribon.
See an example with continuis axis:
Forecast ribbon appears:
If you put some data that won't be continuos the forecast will not appear. It's is what is seems to me.

I completely agree, but the analytics pane does not include a forecast option.
