Flow Map not Working - 'Unlocatable Error'
somebody said on feb-24 it was working but I just checked. And I dont see that it is, my old maps that used to work. Still are not working currently. If anyone else has luck , please take screenshots.
my old maps works but if i try to change the data it doesn t work
10-4 , i must have changed some items on my old map and just didnt realize. But the real issue seems to have just been validated, any new info will not work. So i guess for now its dead in the water??
i do n t expect that .. and i think there is no other map like that in BI ?
in terms of flow maps, no other maps that I have searched for have what this map has. I was hoping the new azure maps would have it, but it does not either. There is a program out there called Translytx that can pull the same type of flow charts and map out trucking lanes which is what I used this one for. It also matches round trips etc. But then again its more for trucking, not sure what your need or use for this one is. And Translytx does cost. But something for you to check out. My company quit the subscrtiption so I'm up a creek without a paddle currently 😕
I was able to create a new map. I am using City, state, lat and long for a simple point to point route, nothing too complex.
I had to make sure in the data set to set the lat/long columns appropriately, as powerBI did not automatically recognize it. Also, make sure you do not summarize within the table.when you say summarize within the table, can you advise. I am a little new to powerbi, sorry for the question if it seems like a obvious or silly one. Just trying to learn on my own
On the left hand side of the app, there is a table view option. Select that on the select your dataset from the right hand side. Once you are in there, you'll want to select the columns and look at the ribbon tool bar to see what format, data category and data type it is recognizing. You can then select from a drop down what type of data you want.
So on my Lat data, it is as follows:
1. Structure>Data Type>Decimal Number2. Formating>Format>General
3. Properties>Data category>Latitude
