Find all the PowerBI reports that use a specific View in the query as a data source

Hi

I am doing an audit of our PowerBI estate and trying to identify all the dashboards that use specific views.

Is there a tool in Power BI, or any third parties which would let me identify the data sources and views used if I enter a specific View name? This would save me weeks of work, and could be applied to mNy other areas of my work.

Thanks in advance

@dosania You might try the Power BI REST API: Datasets - Get Datasources - REST API (Power BI Power BI REST APIs) | Microsoft Learn

or the Powershell equivalent:

Get-PowerBIDatasource (MicrosoftPowerBIMgmt.Data) | Microsoft Learn

Hi @dosania ,

Thanks for posting in Microsoft Fabric Community.
Just checking in to see if the suggestion from @Greg_Deckler helped in your case.

As mentioned, you can use the Power BI REST API Datasets - Get Datasources or the PowerShell Get-PowerBIDatasource cmdlet to get data source details for each dataset and search the results for the specific view name.

Please reach out if you need further assistance.

Thank you.

Thanks @Greg_Deckler for your suggestions.
