Filtering on data that is non existant in the datasource

Hello Power Bi community, long time lurker first time poster.

I am hoping you can help me with the following. I am trying to include filters for data that currently does not exist yet in the data source and having trouble.

Consider the following scenario, I have hundreds of SKU licenses that we sell. Some of which have not currently sold yet but could be sold in the future. Yet when filtering my options are very limited with "advanced filtering" and I cannot pick items using basic filtering that are not currently in the dataset.

I've read some where that creating a dimention table might be a solution but I've been struggling to do this. I was hoping I could create a simple table with a list of all of the licenses that I wish to filter on and relate them to the table, but when doing so my filters have no effect.

I'm hoping for some guidance on how I can create a custom table with a list of SKU's I can use to filter upon, so later in the year when a license is sold this sale will be included in the revenue calculation I have.

Thanks,

I was able to figure it out shortly after this post. Creating a new table as mentioned above was part of it, then rightclicking the table and creating a new grouping. Creating a one to many relationship between the newly created table and my data. Grouping the SKU's that I wish to build a filter on, then filter on that.
