Hello, everyone,
I'd need some help with an issue I am banging my head.
As part of a larger database, I have the table WorldCup (which is connected to other tables, like Country_Numbers or Country).
I have also created a visual, with multiple tables, each using different columns (eg: one table, using 64Pair, another one 32...).
I'd like to filter such visual so that, inserting a slicer based on "ID_Country", instead of filtering these tables only with the country, keeps both rows of the corresponding Pair.
(Of course, it works if I create a slicer for each table using the Pair, but I'd like to have just one slicer, based on the ID_country, which will adjust all the tables at the same time).
Thank you in advance!
Hi @PijushRoy
thanks for your reply.
I understand your comment, and I can agree that the data model is not perfect. However, it is linked to an external access database which I cannot really fundamentally modify...
Anyway, I am not sure if that one is really the issue... let me try to re-explain more precisely.
In fact, if we filter on ID_Country (Or Country, it does not really matter - I can do everything within the same "WorldCup" table), the tables are filtered with the country itself, as normal.
What I want is that by filtering on ID_Country, the filter is applied not on that field, but on the "Pair" one... (without needing of creating an extra slicer on "Pair") And ideally on all the table at the same time.
Is it something achievable?
Hi @Bimbone
It depends on your data model. If you have perfect data model and you use Country_ID from Country_Numbers table, it will filter all of your visual.
But in your data model, looks you are using DUEL relationship in multiple table.
Please redesign your data model as DIM & FACT relationship or STAR SCHEMA model
You can create sample PBIX file (with sample non sensitive data) and share the pbix file link (google drive/dropbox/onedrive)
Let me know if that works for you
