I am trying to write a complex filter in Power BI Power Query, but it seems to not understand the logic with parentheses. How should it be done correctly?
To make it more fun, let's say I want to filter out from my basket all green fruit except for cucumbers (which has seeds, so biologically it's a fruit) , i.e. I want to keep all fruit that is not green, plus cucumbers.
I write:
#"Filtered Rows1" = Table.SelectRows(#"Previous step", each [color] <> "green" and ( [color] = "green" and [type] = "cucumber" ) )
I get an empty table as a result. What am I doing wrong?
Solved! Go to Solution.
#"Filtered Rows1" = Table.SelectRows(#"Previous step", each [color] <> "green" or [type] = "cucumber" ) )
#"Filtered Rows1" = Table.SelectRows(#"Previous step", each [color] <> "green" or [type] = "cucumber" ) )
1st condition says it should not be "Green" & 2nd condition should be "Green" & "Cucumber".
once you mention <>Green, it excludes all green.
