Filter Treemap by Date

I have a simple treemap that shows the count of an item by category.

Each item it's displaying has a date attached to it in the underlying dataset. I want to filter the treemap to only show items where the date is in the next 365 days, and never in the past. In the filter section under the fields pane, this option isn't here (as it might be for a table visual). Any idea how I can achieve this?
