Field issue in related tables

Hi,

I am new to power BI.

After Loading the data from two tables fom excel, when i establish the relation between the two tables, measure fields (Amount fields) in the second table are converting into Dimensions. So when i am trying to build Bar chart by using this two fields its not coming in bar form. please help me with this.

Thanks,

shylender

Hi @shylender,

It's really hard to help you without sample table, please share your more details as @Phil_Seamark said.

Best Regards,
Angelia

Table 1

Client   Director  Project OnsiteEmp  OffsiteEmp

AB         Henry     xyz          20                  20

BC         John       yzx          10                  10

CD         Wills       zxy          40                  20

Table 2

Project   Gross Amount   Net Amount

xyz              100000            20000

yzx              200000            40000

zxy              400000            80000

When i Make relationship between this two on project field, Gross Amount and net amount are not showing as value fileds

means i cannot use them as measures to built bar chart.

What is the data type for the column?  Make sure it is a numeric type.   Sounds like it might be set to Text.

Proud to be a Datanaut!

I have given the field values in Amount Formate

More over before i make relationship the second table fields are showing as measure fields (means with summation symbol)

In below commect i have given sample data also.

Hi @shylender,

What result do you want? You said “Gross Amount and net amount are not showing as value fileds, means i cannot use them as measures to built bar chart". In your bar chart, which field display as X-axis, which field display Y-axis? I am still confusing.

Angelia
