Exporting table from PBI causes calculated column DAX loss - please help

Hi,

I'm trying to export a table from one PBI report to Excel or a .csv, in order to import it into a different report. The problem I'm encountering is that exporting the table gives only the values in the cells and none of the DAX formulas. This is a major issue as I need those formulas to be used in the second report - the values by themselves are useless to me. I have tried copying and pasting the whole table between the two reports (gives a "table is too large" error message) and using DAX studio and PBI's Export feature (only gives me the values and not the formulas). How can I export the table, retain the formulas, and then import it into the second report?

Thanks for your help.

  • Hi NickMorrell,

I'm afraid that it's not supported to export data including dax formula directly in Power BI currently.

You could vote this similar idea here which has been submitted in Power BI ideas forum and add your comments there to improve Power BI and make this feature coming sooner.

In addition, you could have a reference of Power BI Template which may be a workaround.

    Best  Regards,

    Cherry
