Exporting/analyzing data in relation to licensing

Hi,

 

If I want the users to be able to analyze in excel the bi reports, does the users need a power bi license to do that?  I read that they would have to log in with their bi account in order to use the feature. 

 

And other export features, such as exporting to excel, or saving it as pdf or embed in sharepoint or website, does these all require them to have bi license in order to do it?  

 

Is there any way for users to view report without needing a license?  I think even if i publish the report from bi service, the user would still need bi license in order to view the link i share with them is that correct?  Thanks.

    Hi wpf_ , 

    1. Analyze in Excel requires that the dataset be in Power BI Premium or that the user have a Power BI Pro license.

    2. Export the data requires a Pro or Premium license as well as edit permissions to the dataset and report. 

    3. With sharing, whether you share content inside or outside your organization, you need a Power BI Pro license. Your recipients also need Power BI Pro licenses, unless the content is in a Premium capacity.

     You could refer to collaborate-share ,service-analyze-in-excel  and power-bi-visualization-export-data  for  details.
