Exporting Power BI Page to Powerpoint

Hi There,

I'm relatively new to Power BI and I've created one page consist of 1 Bar Chart and 2 slicers.

When I try to export the page to Powerpoint as embed live data, only the Bar Chart and 1 slicer appear on the Powerpoint slide.

Can someone explain why the other slicer won't appear on the slide? Is there any limitation to export the page.

Thanks

Regards,

Adho

Hi Adho,

When exporting Power BI to PowerPoint with embedded live data, only visible and compatible visuals appear. The missing slicer might be due to:

  1. Visibility: Ensure it's fully visible and not outside the canvas.
  2. Compatibility: Custom slicers or unsupported visuals may not export.
  3. Limitations: Some configurations may not work with live data embedding.

Suggestions:

  • Make all slicers visible and aligned.
  • Replace custom slicers with native ones if needed.
  • Export as static images/PDF if live data embedding isn’t sufficient.

It seems like you're encountering a common issue with exporting Power BI reports to PowerPoint. Here are a few potential reasons why one of your slicers isn't appearing:

Custom Visuals: If the missing slicer is a custom visual, it might not be supported in the export process. Only certified custom visuals are fully supported.

To troubleshoot, you can try the following steps:

  • Ensure that both slicers are standard visuals or certified custom visuals.
  • Check if there are any updates or patches for Power BI that might address this issue.
  • Consider exporting the report as a static image to see if both slicers appear.

Hi @MuhammadAfdhol , Thank you for reaching out to Microsoft Fabric Community Forum.

I agree with @rohit1991 , Please consider the following:

1. If the slicers are overlapped or placed in areas that Power BI doesn't recognize as part of the report, they might not get exported correctly. Place your slicers in visible places of the report without over-lapping any visuals.

2. Check if second slicer is hidden behind other elements, or if it is outside the visible canvas area. Sometimes, visuals outside the viewable report area might not get exported in Power BI.

3. Power BI may have trouble embedding certain slicer types or configurations into the PowerPoint export. For example, if you are using a custom slicer (from a marketplace visual or one with complex settings), it might not be exported as expected. Try using the default slicer visual type and see if it resolves the issue.

4. Ensure that you are publishing through the "Publish to Web" or "Power BI Service" options, depending upon how you are exporting your live data.

5. Ensure you are using a compatible browser and the latest version of Power BI Desktop or Service.
