The issue was fixed after simply restarting my computer 😂. Although I had shutdown it many times before, I still faced the same error. However, restarting computer solved my issue.
Hi @tammytran - Basic checks like,
Power BI Desktop seems to be caused by an issue with Power BI's engine or the way it interacts with your environment.
Clear Cache:
Navigate to File > Options and settings > Options > Data Load and clear the cache under Data Cache Management Options.
Reset Power BI Desktop:
Delete the %AppData%\Microsoft\Power BI Desktop Store folder to reset Power BI Desktop settings.
2. Update Power BI Desktop
Ensure you're running the latest version of Power BI Desktop. Sometimes bugs are fixed in newer releases.
Download the latest version from the official Power BI Desktop download page.
3. Verify File and Data Source Permissions
Excel Files:
Ensure the Excel file isn't open or locked by another process.
ODBC/DATABASE:
Verify the ODBC connection or database credentials and permissions. Test the connection outside Power BI.
4. Repair Power BI Installation
Go to Control Panel > Programs > Programs and Features, right-click on Power BI Desktop, and select Repair.
If repair doesn’t work, uninstall Power BI Desktop, reboot your computer, and reinstall it.
Go to File > Options and settings > Options > Preview features and try:
Disabling all preview features temporarily to see if the issue resolves.
Alternatively, enable only essential features one at a time to identify potential conflicts.
6. Check System Resources
Ensure your system has enough memory and disk space.
Close other applications running in the background to free up resources.
