Excel and powerbi

I'm new to excel for data cleaning, in my organization they have done data cleaning with pivot table and done visuals in excel. So can I do without using pivot table and connect to powerbi and do some changes and give the dashboard .or should I use pivot in excel and then to connect with powerbi.?

Please let me know. Any help please.

You have the Pivot option in Power BIPivot and Unpivot with Power BI - RADACAD
