Error message with paramaters Report Builder

Hi Community,
I created a report using Report Builder, wthout using a parameter I can view the content of my report.

The issue started when I added a parameter, after I select a value ffrom the dropdown list and click on View Report I get the below error message.

Any suggested would be appreciated.

Thank you in advance.

Hi Community,

In case you had the same error message as mine, make sure that the paramater and the fields you are visualizing in your report are not coming from the same dataset.

Create another dataset (dsParameter) which will be used just in the @Parameter

Edit the first dataset which you want to visualize, and filter your query by adding a condition where dsVisualize.Column = @Parameter

Hi, @DataVitalizer ;

The following points need to be noted:
1.the parameter format/type has to match the column format exactly.

2.Verify that the steps to create parameters are correct.

Create parameters for paginated reports in the Power BI service

Report parameters in Power BI Report Builder

Hi @v-yalanwu-msft

I created the parameter using the query designer by dragging a field from the same dataset into the paramatrer zone then I displayed it by ticking the checkbox.

Have I missed any step?

Thank you in advance
