I tried to import text instead of number by changing the Data Type to be "text"
GID --> Original : 9991; New: 9991A

The first error message indicates you want to convert the column to Number type, not text as you said. Please see the Applied step which cause the error and check if you convert the text type to number type.
For the second error, delete the relationship first and apply changes then create relationship again.

@Cheryl_Woo , In your data model, you have a dimension table( on one side in 1-Many relationship). In that one side table, you are getting a blank value. That is not allowed. Filter out null values in power query
