To narrow down the cause of this issue, could you try installing SQL Server Management Studio(SSMS) on the same machine that have Power BI Desktop installed, then use SSMS to connect to the SQL Server and check if it is successful?:smileyhappy:

Yes I can connect from the client machine using SSMS
