Has anyone encountered the following error? PBI was working then on reboot of machine, this message appeared. Both import and directquery cannot access the live server. Server is up and running and I can access it from all other applications without issue.

@ChuckS After much investigation, I believe there is an issue with the latest version of PBI. I went to the archive Previous monthly updates to Power BI Desktop and the Power BI service - Power BI | Microsoft Learn and pulled the September version https://download.microsoft.com/download/8/8/0/880BCA75-79DD-466A-927D-1ABF1F5454B0/PBIDesktopSetup-2... I was able to connect to the DB2 without issue.
Has this been fixed in a newer version? And which version?
February 2023 version (remember to update the data gateway as well)
Power BI February 2023 released yesterday has fixed this issue. Hooray!
Where did you find the download? All the links I've used still have the old (Dec) version...
Unfortunately I found that to be true too, the only downloads on the Microsoft website are the new versions.
Fortunately, when I looked in the downloads folder of my computer the version I downloaded in September was still there.
Thanks. I am actually waiting for the updated "on premise data gateway", sorry. That one doesn't appear to be released yet unless burried somewhere as all the general links I've tried still link to the December version...
Looks like the new on-premise gateway was released.

Ahh, of course. Well, the December version of the gateway was released Jan 17 so you might have to wait a while.

At least we are half updated 🙂
The currently targeted date for the SU2 release - for both Power BI Desktop, and for the On-Premises Data Gateway - is February 13 2023 according to Microsoft. We shall see. I will give it a spin and report back findings once it is released.
I have this problem also (using 32bit version). Rolling back to September is not a solution for me because I don't have the September version!
Hi @CathyT - You can click the link on the page for the September version 32bit: Previous monthly updates to Power BI Desktop and the Power BI service - Power BI | Microsoft Learn
OMG, this is true! If you scroll down under the AUGUST 2022 UPDATE header to right above the JULY 2022 UPDATE header there is a link called AUGUST 2022 VERSION 32 BIT (also 64 bit) and it actually does download what looks to be the older version!
I went to that page already. The link there for the Download Center takes you to the same place where the most recent version is. The digital signature date on the file is 11/11/2022. Which is the October update.
If you had issues prior, the September file seems to be able to download now... FYI...

I am a developer who works on the Mashup (aka PowerQuery) engine.
If you contact support for this issue, please tell them it has been opened in ICM#348059006, and in Power Query Bug #945088.
I have attached workaround instructions in both of those places.
I have also placed the workaround steps here: https://1drv.ms/u/s!AoVHHqNdBM4VgQfWbxvB-rZOCWfr?e=amInQA
Has this been fixed yet in the December Update?
There is no December update. The latest version is of November and the issue remains.
Please go to the issue report here Issue with IBM DB2 connector October 2022 release ... - Microsoft Power BI Community
and click on upvote to help us make this vital for Microsoft to include in the next update, thanks.
