Error: Failed to decrypt credentials

Hi experts,

 

I am facing error as Failed to decrypt credentials while opening pbix files but the Power BI Service is working fine.

I have tried by clearing permisssions but with no luck.

Hi @Usama94 ,

If your .pbix files are protected with sensitivity labels that include encryption settings, you will need the appropriate permissions according to the encryption settings of the sensitivity label on the file.
Sensitivity labels from Microsoft Purview Information Protection in Power BI - Power BI | Microsoft ...
If your data source is encrypted, e.g. a password is set for excel, this will also happen, please check if there is any encryption in the data source.
Also, since you've already mentioned clearing the data source credentials but it didn't work, I'd suggest you try clearing the Cache folder or uninstall and reinstall Desktop.

If none of the above methods work, what is your data source and what is the version of your Desktop? I can run a test.

I have the same issue, you click the clear permission and it does nothing. I cant access any of the reports.
