Erratic cross-filtering behaviour from table visuals

Hi,

I have a bar chart on Page1 that drillthrough to Page2:

On Page2, I have 2 table visuals:
Cases and SLATracking

Relationship of the tables (1:*):

Interaction setting of the tables (Cases filter SLATracking):

The above shows that there are 3 records on the SLATracking table related to 1 record on the Cases.

But when I select the record on the Cases table, the SLATracking table show blank/no records/does not filter the related records.

The above are experienced on both PBI Desktop and Service. What's wrong?

Thank you.

    Hi Zhu

I did something just now, which I never tried before. I moved everything from the Filters on all pages (under the Filters pane) to Filters on this page, and everything is working smoothly so far.

If it is the cause of problem, why? What if I really needed Filters on all pages ?

    Thanks

    Hi JLKM ,

Based on the description of your problem, I ran a test, but my test results would not show your problem.

    Here is my test result:

    1.Drill down to another page:

    2.Successful interaction is possible:

You can troubleshoot the problem from the filter's point of view, is there a filter on the page that is causing the results to be affected by the filter and generating that error.

    Best Regards,

        Hi JLKM ,

l'm glad to hear that you solved the problem of unsuccessful interactions through your own attempts. You need to know the scope of filters on this page and filters on all pages, filters on this page only work on all visual objects on the current page while filters on all pages are report level filters that will globally filter the entire report, if you need to use it, you may need to check if the filter will have an impact on some interactions first.

      Hi Zhu

Thank you for trying it out.

Yes, at first it works for me too. But after some time, the issue occurred, even when I cleared all the filters. Some records are interacting while others are not. I have recreated Page2 and the same problem happened, be it in PBI desktop or service.

My desktop version is 2.131.1203.0 64-bit (July 2024).

Hoping to have more clarity regarding this.
