Entities in period B but NOT in period A.

Hello all,

I'm trying to build a dashboard (in PowerBI Desktop) that shows the list of entities in Period B (selected by filter) but NOT in period A (also selected by filter).

I want to show the list of entities but I don't know how to refer that filters selected into the DAX formula.

This is the idea:

All help would be appreciate, thanks you so much.

Álvaro.

@ÁlvaroAmo Without sample data very difficult to be specific but here are some things that might help.

Sorry, having trouble following, can you post sample data as text and expected output?
Not really enough information to go on, please first check if your issue is a common issue listed here: https://community.powerbi.com/t5/Community-Blog/Before-You-Post-Read-This/ba-p/1116882

Also, please see this post regarding How to Get Your Question Answered Quickly: https://community.powerbi.com/t5/Community-Blog/How-to-Get-Your-Question-Answered-Quickly/ba-p/38490

The most important parts are:
1. Sample data as text, use the table tool in the editing bar
2. Expected output from sample data
3. Explanation in words of how to get from 1. to 2.

@Greg_Deckler thanks for you quick response 😁

1. Sample data as text, use the table tool in the editing bar:

Name of the table: Entity_Data

NamePeriodActivity
Spain2020Purchase
Portugal2020Manufacturing

Germany

2021Goods

France

2020Manufacturing
France2021Manufacturing
Austria2021Goods

I have a table like this, more or less.

2. Expected output from sample data:

lvaroAmo_1-1678808011667.png

In that case, the output should be: Germany and Austria in the first case and in the second one Spain, Portugal, Austria and Germany

I want to show what entities are in Period B but not in Period A, but this periods are selected by filters into the report page.

Anything more you need, just ask, this is my second doubt into the forum 😅

Thanks a lot!

Álvaro.
