Enhancing User Access and Security in Power BI

Hello Power BI Community,

As we delve into optimising our IVR insights product in Power BI, I'm exploring strategies for enhancing user access and security. Specifically, I aim to understand how to effectively tailor Power BI's capabilities to meet our organization's unique requirements and ensure robust data security.

Could you share insights, best practices, or experiences on managing user access and security?

Thank you for your valuable assistance.

Best regards,
Manoj Prabhakar

Hi @manoj_0911 ,

Managing user access and security in Power BI is crucial for organizations to safeguard their data and ensure compliance.

Power BI allows you to define roles and assign specific permissions to users based on their responsibilities. These roles can be customized to control access to datasets, reports, dashboards, and other resources.
Power BI ensures encryption of data in transit and encryption of data at rest.Power BI adheres to a variety of compliance standards, including GDPR, HIPAA, ISO/IEC 27001, and SOC 2.
Power BI operates in a multi-tenant environment, ensuring isolation of data across different organizations.
Power BI uses Azure Traffic Manager to direct user traffic to the nearest datacenter, improving performance and security.
