Hi,
i've a question regarding the "new" drill-through button;
Is it possibile to use a drop-down list slicer to select the drill-through value and then click on button to go to the drill-though page?
I've tried so many different ways, but the button only works if i select the value from a table from example. If i select the value from the slicer the button remains greyed.
Thank in advance for the help,

Hi @LJAdmin ,
That's the functionality constraint on how the drill-through buttons work in Power BI. You have to click on a single data-point for it to work.

Would love to get this bumped up. With the introduction of the new button slicer this functionality would greatly enhance the user experience. The new slicer allows for a "netflix style" scroll experience to control the data on the screen and if you want the slicer itself to represent the data then it makes sense to allow for enabling of the drill through button if there is only a single selected value similar to selecting a value from a table and proceeding to the detail page from there.

The only limitations I saw were listed at the bottom of the page and since a Slicer is a 'Built-in visual' and selecting a list object allows the right click drilldown method from that item. If the drilldown didn't work in the slicer the old fashion way, I would agree that the button version wouldn't be supported either. But since it is, this seems more like a critical oversight by MS or a flat out bug.
I just joined the community looking for a solution for this problem. If anyone has found a work around for this it would be very appreciated. 🤔 If I figure one out I'll definitely report back here with it.
Thanks!
Hi, just to bump this topic. Did anyone find a solution?
I'm needing to build a drillthrough based on images (I was going to use a chiclet slicer).
@Microsoft, saying selecting a single value via a slicer rather than other visual is pretty poor. This is surely not working as intended?
I am wondering the same thing. Has anyone found a solution for this yet? Or even a workaround?
Thanks
