Employee headcount by month in stacked column chart

Hi All,

I am trying to replicate the excel chart below in Power BI. Also below is some sample data.

Ultimately what I want is to have the full employee count per month based on hire date and term date, with the range of months being controlled by a slicer. I am having trouble getting an accurate headcount for historical months. Any tips here would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Hi there, not directly answering your question here, but just wanted to say, the more complex my HR report was the harder was it to maintain the approach of calculating HC in between the dates. May be you just create monthly views, so you can see who is a leaver, joiner, HC in a particular month row wise.

Take a look at the second story in this article, i am always using this approach to avoid the headache.
