Email Subscription: "Include my changes" does not keep slicers across different pages
I am not sure what I am doing wrong, maybe someone can help me out? 🙂
I have this report with multiple pages each containing some slicers. It is not always the same slicers across all pages.
I want to subscribe different sets of colleagues to a pre-filtered version of the report so that they receive in their inbox a PDF preview and a link of this pre-filtered view. I am not using any RLS setup because I want these people to also be able to play with the report and see other data than the one pre-filtered for them. I am just doing this out of convenience for them.
When I set up an email subscription I do the following:
- go through each page filter using some slicers present on the page
- start a new subscription
- make sure the box "Include My Changes" is checked.
- i fill in other details likes recipients , check "full report attached as pdf", etc..
- there is a field "report page" which only allows me to select one page, so I select the 1st page
- save the subscription
When I test the subscription both the PDF and the link to the report show me the report only with a slicer selection made on the on the 1st page. All other pages are reset with the "standard" view.
Is this a limitation of the "Include my changes"? Or am I missing something?

Hi julienvdc ,
When creating a subscription for a report, you'll choose whether to Include my changes. When Include my changes is unchecked, Power BI ignores all changes you may have made to the report, and subscribes you to the report as published by the author. When Include my changes is checked, Power BI subscribes you to the report including all changes you've made to the report. Changes include:
- filters (filter pane)
- slicers
- personalized visuals
- cross-filtering or cross-highlighting
- drill down or drill up
- bookmarks
- spotlights
- focus mode

Hey Anonymous thanks for attending to my question... but however this is information I know already and is not responding to my issue...
My issue is that "Include my changes" does not keep slicers selection across the different pages of my report. Those are different slicers on each page, with their own selection. When the subscription is sent, only the 1st page of the report has the slicer selection, all other pages are ignored and have the default selection (not "my changes")...

Have you ever been able to identify the root cause and resolve it or did it get fixed on MS side?
Maybe an admin setting?
Thanks!

Is anyone else facing this issue?

Hi ther, I am having sae issues. Did you manage to resolve it? I am checking the box to save my changes but when the report runs the slicer is not applied

You need to add more dynamic filters for the fields used in each page slicer, if they are coming from different tables then you have to create filters for each one
